YEAR 9 BATTLEFIELDS TRIP TO YPRES AND SOMME

After arriving safely in France yesterday, the staff and students made the quick journey east & were soon in Belgium for their action-packed itinerary led by our tour guide, Bob. All were very moved by Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, followed by an exploration of a trench system at Bayernwald, then onto purchasing Belgian chocolate at Peter de Groot. They ate a lovely meal at Pacific Eiland before representing the whole of the Abbey Park community, laying a wreath at Ypres during the Menin Gate Last Post Ceremony.
